My Wonderful Birthday Gifts From My VERY Thoughtful Husband

001

The above is a photo of a locket and several tiny photos of our angel Coco so I can wear her close to my heart :).  My husband got this for my birthday a couple weeks ago from a company called "Whispers in the Heart".  I am not an easy person to buy for I tell you!

004 014The first photo of the gold charm bracelet that my husband bought me several years ago when we had fewer angels.  The second photo of the silver charm bracelet was made by an artist from the same company.  The artist used a photo of each of our cat's faces and imprinted them on the silver.  The other side of the charm even has their names written on it!

Thanks to everyone who wished my baby Sasha well in my previous post.  She is doing great on day 3 after her surgery.

I will leave you with a photo I took of Coco's sister Chanel trying to stay cool yesterday:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

My Baby Sasha Had an Operation Yesterday :(

003

Nothing serious.  She just had to be spayed.  She is a little more than four months old and weighs 4 pounds 11 ounces, but the doctor wanted to wait until she was a little older given she's pretty much a Siamese cat with a long thin body.

Our vet is a little conservative and wanted to keep her confined so she can't run and jump for at least 48 hours.  Well, that was a TOTAL bust!

The above photo shows a medium sized crate that we connected to her carrier.  I took a nap with her yesterday afternoon when she got home to be awakened to her here:

She was actually up on the bed beside me!  Maybe I should have named her Houdini!

My husband then went to lots of trouble lugging a LARGE crate upstairs and set it up.  It was a job I tell you.  This gave her lots more room, but would prevent her from jumping around like the vet doesn't want to happen.  I left the room for five minutes only to return to Sasha running around the bedroom.  She'd crawled through the bars with her thin little body!!!  We finally decided that it would be safer just to let her roam the bedroom as long as no cats are in here with her.

She's amazing for so many reasons.  Here it is only 20 hours post surgery and you'd never know anything happened!  She's purring like crazy :)

Have any of you had similar experiences?  Most of our cats have always bounced right back, but it's been 2 and a half years since we went through this with a kitten.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a terrific day!

It is SO Hot In Florida...

005

You probably can't tell from this photo, but I added ice to my cat's water fountain.  I thought I should do this for them since they kept trying to drink my ice water!  I know that sounds gross to some people, but it is HOT here.  It is close to 100 degrees everyday with high humidity, very little breeze, and no rain for days.  Looks like we have a few more days to go.  Even though we have central air and fans, it still gets hot in doors.  I wish they could just take a dip in the pool:

I promised not to complain about the great this summer after the brutal winter we had, but maybe I just did ;)

Not much time to blog lately, but as always I appreciate your visit and have a wonderful day!

My Baby Is Growing Up FAST!

011
Sasha will be sixteen weeks old tomorrow, but the big news is she weighs 4 pounds and 4 ounces.   Although she's still not that big or that old, our vet recommended that she be spayed when she reached 4 pounds or so.

We are all for spaying and neutering our pets.  There are times I wish our angel Coco had a litter of kittens for a variety of reasons, many of which I'm sure you can guess.  However, the fact is breeding and or buying results in some in shelters dying.  I don't want to offend anyone by saying that and of course it is only my opinion.  All of our pets have been rescues and been spayed or neutered.

Oh well, it seems like yesterday that she was only 5 weeks old when we picked her up at the shelter weighing just over a pound.  They grow up so FAST!  She has been and continues to be one of the sweetest kitties I've ever met and brings us immeasurable joy daily :)
