Another Day in Paradise

Today we went out to a small but busy beach town named Jaco.  It is supposed to be one of the best places to surf.  I tried to take photos of the waves from the restaurant we ate at while we watched the surfers.  The waves were really quite impressive, unfortunately you can't tell from my photos.  Here they are though:

Jungle Tour in Costa Rica

Today we hiked through the jungle looking for all types of tropical creatures.  We saw quite a few.  I took a lot of photos so most will be posted in a photo album titled "Jungle Tour".

It was a fairly long, hot, and humid hike through very tropical surrondings like these:

Here was the reward at the end of the exhausting trip:

You better believe I jumped right in :)

Now for the fun stuff.  We saw a sloth cross the road VERY slowly:

A monkey who was very angry when we wouldn't give him our bananna - we weren't supposed to give them food :(

Then we saw a mother with her baby :)

We also saw a small raccoon which is indigenous to this area, a large iguana, and a big bullfrog:

After the tour we walked back and went to eat at a nearby cafe where we met this little sweetie Linda.  My hubby bought her a piece of fish.  When we left she was sleeping in the shade with a full belly.

Just a Quick Note...

I just wanted to say I will be back to my site's main mission of animal rescue after vacation.  I thought I might try to diversify a little and maybe I'm a little ADD .  Also, I just found out foster kitty Fleur will be coming back for a few days when we return :)

Costa Rica Day 2 - Part 2

Here is the web site address for the resort we are staying at:

If you ever come to Costa Rica, I would highly recommend it.

Tomorrow we are scheduled to go on an all day excursion to the national park which is right on the Pacific Ocean where we are supposed to see all sorts of wild life, so be sure to come back tomorrow night.

After laying in the sun and playing 18 holes of golf, this was hubby:

BTW, the only bad thing is I am missing all the furkids desperately as I was browsing through my photos .  However, I know they are in great hands with my neighbors.

Costa Rica Day 2 - Part 1

What a great day!  I finally got a lot more sleep than I needed last night.  Hubby got up to play golf at 5:00 AM  while I slept until 9:00 AM (11:00 at home, lol).  Anyways, I felt amazingly better.  The weather was absolutely beautiful so when I was finally ready we walked out to the beach:

As you can see, the beaches are a little rocky and do not have the powdery sand I showed in my previous photos of Cancun.  However, Cancun doesn't have the breathtaking mountainous terrain seen here.  So, we decided to lay by the pool that meanders around the resort:
